Back Pain

Back pain is very common and can be severe affecting sleep and daily activities.

Causes

  • Muscular pain caused by heavy lifting or sudden movements.
  • Intervertebral disc disease.
  • Facet joint arthropathy.
  • Sacroiliac joint dysfunction.
  • Spinal canal stenosis, etc.

Prevention

To keep your back healthy, make sure to do strengthening exercises of the back and core muscles and to keep a healthy weight. Try to stand up straight and to sit up straight. Avoid heavy lifting when possible. When lifting, make sure to use your leg muscles and to keep your back straight while bending your knees.

Treatment

  • Most cases of acute low back pain, improve naturally in few days or weeks.
  • We recommend applying heat wraps and using medications like Ibuprofen or muscle relaxants. Physical therapy may also be helpful.
  • If the pain does not improve in 3 months, we work in our clinic on identifying the source of the pain and treating it.

We perform the following interventional procedures to treat low back pain:
